Questions

Frequently asked questions

How many days of annual leave are mandatory?

At least 20 working days under article 137 of the Labour Relations Act, increased by seniority, age, disability and working conditions; usually capped at 26 unless a collective agreement says otherwise.

How is sick leave calculated?

The first 30 days are on the employer with the statutory compensation, from day 31 on the Fund; the system picks the MPIN code and reduces regular hours.

Does the manager see who else is out?

Yes. The team calendar and conflicts are part of the request; an overlap with another colleague or a published shift is flagged before approval.

Can leave be carried over to the next year?

Yes, under the law the unused part can be taken until 30 June of the following year; the system keeps the carried-over balance separately.
